Charting Examples using actual COVID-19 Statistics – Pareto Chart

Enter the following table into Excel:

Highlight the range A2:B10.  Click Insert, Recommended Charts, and select Pareto Chart.

A Pareto chart is a type of chart that contains both bars and a line graph, where individual values are represented in descending order by bars, and the cumulative total is represented by the line.

To add additional features, left click, right click on the bars, Format Data Series.

Click on Picture or texture fill, select Online to get a range of online images, click on Clipboard to use images saved on your clipboard, or click on File to use images that you have saved to your own computer.  In the chart below I have used online images and found a image of people.

You can also click on the Pareto Line and change the solid line to dots using the options in the pane on the right hand side of the screen.
