# include that weekends are free

• Does anyone knows how to calculate if translator is free or not, regarding that weekends are free ( I mean if weekends are free how to check if translator is able to translate a document)

here is the sample of my workbook

• Re: include that weekends are free??

doesn't that what this sheet already does? I read the post where Roy helped you build this, nothing was mentioned about excluding weekends from the calculations...it should calculate for all time right?

Are you asking to REMOVE the weekends as available time?

• Re: include that weekends are free??

Yes weekends should not be included as available time

• Re: include that weekends are free??

so you are saying that the "translator" will NOT be able to translate on those days?

Just add some type of weekday designations with an if statement.

• Re: include that weekends are free??

Yes, he will not be able to translate on weekends

Could you help me out with this one.
Did you see this workbook where do you think I should put this weekday designation
Do you maybe know the solution

• Re: include that weekends are free??

And what is the statement for this weekday??

• Re: include that weekends are free??

Can I also use WORKDAYS function?

But the problem is I dont quite understand how to use it?

• Re: include that weekends are free??

NETWORKDAYS calculates the number of workdays between two dates, have alook at the help files, I am sure that yuo can adapt it for your needs.

• Re: include that weekends are free??

=IF(B2=B1;MAX(H2;N1);H2) this is formula from M column
Should I put networkdays in tihs formula so it will look like this
=IF(NETWORKDAYS(E2;F2);(B2=B1;MAX(H2;N1);H2)

• Re: include that weekends are free??

This network days is somehow not working for me if i use this function from 12/01/2006 to 14/01/2006 it gives me 2 days shouldnt it said 1 day if it excludes weekends

• Re: include that weekends are free??

But 12/01/2006 to 14/01/2006 is Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Boo!:yikes:

• Re: include that weekends are free??

ok i got it I just have one more question should I put this "networkday" somewhere in between =IF(N2>K2;"OVER";"")

• Re: include that weekends are free??

Yes I got it it works fine I just dont know where to put this, to properly calculate if translator is able to translate additional document

Could you look at my workbook? Actually this workbook is work of h1h member I am just using it and have really hard time modifing it

Should i put this function somewhere in function above which resides in column G
or should I put it somwhere else
(I am really new to excel so I know very little about it)

• Re: include that weekends are free??

now weekends are considered OFF. You may extend the WORKDAY function in collumn O with holidays if need be

In formulae, depending on your locale, you might have to replace ; with , or vice versa.

• Re: include that weekends are free??

thnx for your reply I will let you know how it worked

• Re: include that weekends are free??

thnx for your reply I will let you know how it worked

• Re: include that weekends are free??

just one more question how to color cell red if it say over and green if value is false

• Re: include that weekends are free??

something is not working right
lets say:
name nr.of pages date deadline workingdays
mirza 24 18/01/2006 31/01/2006 10
mirza 18 18/01/2006 24/01/2006 5

He should be able to translate it but it says over ???

• Re: include that weekends are free??

what about this option check this workbook and go to sheet2 where is calcualtion for mirza but somehow I dont know how to do it for more than 2 documents

thnx
