Has anyone else been finding these forums excruciatingly slow over the past few days? I have to move away and look at other sites, which are functioning at normal speed, whilst waiting for OzGrid to fulfil each request. It's the only site I'm having this issue with.

Re: OzGrid Excruciatingly Slow!
I'm fine and haven't experienced slowness ..

Re: OzGrid Excruciatingly Slow!
I can answer a query on any other forum site I frequent in the time it takes OzGrid to resolve! Oh, well - looks like I'm stuck with it.

Re: OzGrid Excruciatingly Slow!
No issue from me today. I did have issues about a month ago. I changed my protocol to IP4 and don't have any issues now.

Re: OzGrid Excruciatingly Slow!
It's just this one site - not worth changing settings over, since all other sites are running fine.

Re: OzGrid Excruciatingly Slow!
Hi Ali,
Sounds like this could be something to do with the attempted upgrade if it's only been the past few days. vBulletin are a bit of a nightmare to get hold of at the moment (Raina has been chasing tickets after no response for 6 days!) but we can ask them to look into this. If anyone else gets this issue please post here or PM one of the admins, the more info the better.
Cheers
Sam

Re: OzGrid Excruciatingly Slow!
Have you tried TRACERT from a command prompt (assuming Windows)?
TRACERT can be used to determine if intermediate servers between you & Ozgrid have configuration issues. My guess is you will find at least one non-responsive server as other users (on a different 'path' to Ozgrid) do not have the issue.

Re: OzGrid Excruciatingly Slow!
AliGW did you find a problem or solution?

Re: OzGrid Excruciatingly Slow!
No - it's still awful, and I am having other problems, too. Posted a response this morning and the forum has stripped out all my line breaks. Tried editing it, but to no avail. All other websites are working as normal - this is the only one. It's pretty slow on my iPad, too, although marginally faster than on this laptop. No idea why this site is behaving badly for me: my internet connection is super fast and, as I have said, all other sites are working as normal. Just have to live with it, I guess. Must be something to do with my profile.

Re: OzGrid Excruciatingly Slow!
I have just followed the link about the TRACERT command and I am afraid it is gobbledegook to me, so there's not much point in trying it as the results will mean nothing to me and I might mess other things up along the way, which I am not prepared to risk. Don't know about IP4, but if that refers to the router, again I'm not prepared to start fiddling for just one unresponsive site. If it were my whole Internet experience, of course I'd consider it, but as it is only this site, I'm going to stick to my gut instinct that the issue is not at my end. Thanks for the advice, though!

Re: OzGrid Excruciatingly Slow!
I experienced the same slowness problem a few weeks ago, as did AlanSidman. I did not have the line break problem that you had on a recent post.
It seemed that loading any Ozgrid Forum got hung while loading something from Google (no doubt to to with the thread and forum search features).
The issue resolved itself after a couple of days and all has been good since.
Hopefully it will auto-resolve for you too!

I hope so, too!

Re: OzGrid Excruciatingly Slow!
There is no configuration for TRACERT and it does not change anything on your system. It is an application that simply reports the time taken for each server hop in the path to the site.

It's not going to cure issues but might help to show where problems are occurring.

Re: OzGrid Excruciatingly Slow!
Thanks, but as I don't understand the feedback shown in the page you've linked to, there's really not much point.. As I've said, it's only this site, so I can live with it until it puts itself right, which no doubt it will at some point. Thanks for trying to help, though - it is appreciated.

Re: OzGrid Excruciatingly Slow!
It could be the custom search bar at the top of the page - I'll do some tests, can you tell me what operating system and browser you're using Ali?

Re: OzGrid Excruciatingly Slow!
Yes, of course - I am using Firefox on Windows 10, both fully up-to-date. Thanks!
