"solver" code, is there a better/faster way?

  • Hi, I'm a financial planner and wrote this code to calculate withdrawals clients can make from various asset accounts and solves for the variable "other cashflow". This is all other funds available to spend in a given year which increases with inflation but still allows them to reach their target end estate value. It is in essence a solver code that establishes a high and low value as the first two trials, then loops through midpoint values until it finds a solution. The code takes between 00:01:30 to 00:04:00 to run and 25-28 "trials" until it finds a solution. I'd like to know if there is a better way to do this. Thanks

Changed the title of the thread from “"solver" code I wrote, asking the forum if there is a better/faster way” to “"solver" code, is there a better/faster way?”.
