Issues retrieving records form ADO recordset via vba.

  • I'm running the following and trying to get data back. For some reason the recordset only seems to populate the field names and not the records.

Not sure how to fix this, any Ideas?

    Thanks,

    Jeff

  • That would suggest that you aren't actually getting any records back. You should check to see if the recordset's EOF or BOF properties are true before trying to do anything with it.

Theory is when you know something, but it doesn’t work. Practice is when something works, but you don’t know why. Programmers combine theory and practice: nothing works and they don’t know why

They are both true, guess that means the query is not working? I can run this query in oracle sql developer fine. I'm thinking I need to use to_date with our Oracle db date format which is DD/Mon/YY HH:mm:ss

I realized this late last night and have been trying to get my date pickers formatted correctly. I may have to post that portion of code once I run out of ideas to try.

    Thanks!

  • It looks like your formats are wrong then. Should probably be more like:

    Code
    1. sd = Format(StartDate, "dd/mmm/yy hh:mm:ss")

but it's been a long time since I had to use Oracle.
