Roy,
Yes, it only has the one worksheet.
Roy,
Yes, it only has the one worksheet.
Thanks, the code needs a little re-writing. If I don't post back tonight it will be aely tomorrow.
That's fine, Roy. Thanks again!
Hi, I haven't seen that issue myself, however, this little tweak will probably fix that.
Also added the ability to select multiple excel files so you can inject the code into a bunch of files at once.
This is not the finished addin.
Just for test purposes
1. Open the WorkBook
2. In the Home Tab, next to the Styles Group you will see a Button labelled "Format Report". This will run your code.
Please just check it on any sheet and let me know if it works as expected.
I will add code to allow the user to browse for a file to format. Also, I will add a more suitable icon for the button.
It will be tomorrow before I can finish this for you.
Trunten,
That work great. However, I've got another little problem. I realize that the code is supposed to go into a module. However, it will only work if I put it into "this workbook".
What am I doing wrong?
Roy,
That is looking good. I can see places where I could use something like that. However, it seems to be formatting a new sheet.
Just so we understand each other. This is a report that has been generated by some other software and saved as a .xlsb file. Now, I am trying to add a little formatting to it to make it easier to read.
It formats the active sheet. So the workbook containing the sheet to be formatted needs to be opened.
Can you provide a copy of an actual sheet to be formatted.
Roy, ok that sounds good.
sorry been a bit busy. here's the update you requested that injects into the workbook module
I've added code to allow the user to browse for the file to format.
Once this workbook is opened then the sheet will be formatted according to your code.
Trunten, That works perfectly. Thank you so much.
Roy, Thank you so much. I like your button idea. I can think of a project where this will be idea. The only issue is when I run the code on a file with data it doesn't keep the data. I just have a pretty formatted spreadsheet.
I've added code to allow the user to browse for the file to format.
Once this workbook is opened then the sheet will be formatted according to your code.
The formatting code was written by you, all I did was ensure it would run on the active sheet. What range is it deleteing?
Everything. However, that's fine Roy, I appreciate everything you have done on this. You already have done so much.
Thank you
As I said I didn't alter the formatting code.
Thanks again Roy, I think that I found a solution. I appreciate your help.
