The Wizard of Oz

  • As most of the Excel/VBA community are aware, Dave Hawley – founder of OzGrid passed away from a rare brain disease in June 2013. Dave and I ran OzGrid together, and I have been active on the Forum under Dave’s account since his passing. With the Forum upgrade now complete, it is the appropriate time for Dave’s Forum account to be retired with the very fitting title of the Wizard of Oz.

I will continue to administer the forum as the owner of OzGrid, and can be contacted through the forum if required. Dave will always be remembered as the founder of OzGrid and the huge contribution he made to the Excel/VBA community. Long live Dave’s memory as the Wizard of Oz.

  • What exactly does "any other characters which could be filled" mean?

  • Funny, I was just thinking about Dave today. I can honestly say I wouldnt have been as successful in my own career with the personal help of the Wizard of Oz!

  • Ger .... you said it pal.

Without this site, yes there are others out there but I've felt this one is the best, I would not have wow'ed and impressed bosses and co-workers. I guess you could say .... the Wizard gave me my brains!

  • he saved my butt on several occasions. sorry to hear he has gone.. his help inspired me to practice and challenge myself to squeeze and manipulate data where others gave up.. I now have tips and tricks of my own, and returned to Ozgrid after many years, this evening, after being beaten by a challenge... Thank you Dave.
