  • Number Format: Change Decimal to Comma

Is there any way to change the decimal point from the usual period symbol (.) to a comma (,). The reason being, i have a structural design spreadsheet and the new terminology is just so, changed from 00.00 to 00,00 I have tried cell formatting but it just uses a comma (,) for numbers in their thousand and it wont do what i need.

    can anyone help

Is it not as simple as going to Edit, Replace and putting . in the 'find what' and , in the 'replace with' boxes?

      Re: Number Formatting

you can try going to Tools >International

      uncheck the Use System Separators

and in the Decimal Separator, instead of "."
      type in ","

      hope this helps
      Cheers

        Re: Number Formatting

You could use a custom format to change the display.

However, if you replace a decimal with a , in the cell itself 2000.05 with become text (left aligned).

So, s custom number format or regional settings is the way to go probably.
