  • Convert Dates: yyyymmdd To dd-mm-yy

Attached is a file with dates from our main frame system which has been converted into an Excel file.

I need to do some analysis which involves working out the number of days between today() and these dates.

I have tried Format Custom to change the dates to dd/mm/yy but this doens't work, can any help please?

    Re: Change Date Format

    in B1 type this formula
    =DATE(LEFT(A1,4),MID(A1,5,2),RIGHT(A1,2))
    copy B1 down.
    and use column as dates
you can format column B as you like
I am not an expert. better solutions may be available. [email protected]$$$gmail.com

      Re: Change Date Format

      Hi Tim,

      =TEXT(A1,"0000-00-00")+0

      Format the cell as date.
