  • CountIF cell is Null

I am trying to do a COUNTIF the cell is not empty. Sometimes the value starts with a number but sometimes the value is a letter.
I figured out how do one or the other but not both.
    =COUNTIF(E2:E65536,">""")
    =COUNTIF(E2:E65536,">0")
Is is some how possible to combine them together.

BTW, The post should be countif cell is not null..

    =COUNTIF(E2:E65536,"<>""") will do it.

Thanks for the quick reply, But I am still having an issue it is counting the blank cell. Almost as if it would find the last used cell and make that the final value.

Ah, sorry, that's not what you wanted. This will work, but I expect someone will have a neater solution...

        =SUM(COUNTIF(E2:E65536,">"""),COUNTIF(E2:E65536,">0"))

                Or my favourite friend...

                Code:
                =SUMPRODUCT(--(E11:E15<>""))
"The greatest trick the devil ever pulled, was making his a figure of eight for each next loop"

Hate to Hijack, but what does the -- represent in a formula?

                    Re: CountIF cell is Null

It changes a TRUE to a 1, or a FALSE to a zero...
