  • Concatenate Number & Text

    Hi all,

For example: A1 is $540,483.69780 and B1 is Acre, when I try to concatenate them together meaning (=A1&B2), the result is 540483.69780Acre. Is there anyway for me to concatenate these two cell so that the result will read $540,483.70 Acre? Meaninng I want to include the $ sign and the thousand separator (,).

The problem is that when I try to concatenate a value cell with a text cell cell the result of the concatenation yield the value without the dollar sign and the thousand separator.

Is there any way that it can be done WITHOUT USING VBA?

An example of my problem is illustrate in the sample xls below.

    Thanks.

    Hi kevphung:

    Try this:
    =TEXT(B7,"#,##.00")& " " & "Acre"

      Try this.

      =TEXT(B7, "$###,###,###.00") & " Acre"
      Boo!

        Thanks.

Someone shows me another method which involves:

Using this if you want $ sign: =Dollar(B7,2)&" Acre"

or using this if you don't want $ sign but you want to include 1000 separator: =Fixed(B7,2)&"Acre".

Just want to share with everybody.

        Regards
