  • Unhide Hidden VB Modules

I've hidden my VB modules because they refer to the password that protects all of the worksheets. I used the method below as described by Dave. NOW, my question is how do I UNHIDE them. I've gone to Tools>VBA RULESProperties - Protection. I can see the password boxes with ******** in them. I can change that but nothing happens. I still can see all the modules with my code in them. LOL HELP !

    Thank you for you help.

    Re: Unhide Hidden VB Modules

When you entered the password, did you also check the "Lock Project for Viewing" option?
    Best Regards,

Yes, I checked the box that says, " Lock project for viewing" on the Protection Tab.

I've since tried to uncheck and re-enter the password, but that didn't unhide the modules.

            Re: Unhide Hidden VB Modules

            Jack in UK and Thomach,

Thank you for your help, but I'm still not able to see any modules in the workbook by go through VB Editor. I've tried while in the VBE go to Tools>VBAProject Properties - Protection, then checking and unckecking the box that says (in VB Editor, Tools > RULES Properties, the password box opens, I type in the password, and RULES Project - Properties box opens, there is a General tab and a Protection tab, I select Protection, I uncheck the box that says "Lock project for viewing", below it are two fields filled with *********. I've tried entering the password in one and then both. Nothing happens. I tried entering the password and saving the file and closing it and then reopening it. Still nothing except the following lets me see the modules again.

I can see and edit one module at a time by opening Tools in the workbook, > macro, and selecting a macro from the dropdown list and clicking Edit.

So the modules are hidden and the end user CAN STILL see and edit the specific macro, even though I didn't want them to see it or edit.

I've tried every combination I can think of to be able to see the modules again. And, yes, before you ask I know the password is the same as the one I originally used. Good thought, though. Thanks Cmark
