  • Turning off calculation on a single sheet

    I have a workbook that contains a seperate sheet for the database. This database contains between 3 and 6 weeks of data depending on how much is inserted each week (varies between users of the workbook). The total number of rows will reach the maximum of 65536, causing a long time to calculate when saving, opening, or doing pretty uch anything. There are a great deal of formulas and pivot tables that need to relate to this data, but once the new data is inserted, the database doesn't change. I'm after a way to permanently turn off the calculation of this sheet so that things work a little faster.

    I've tried placing the database in a seperate file and writing the code to open, insert, save, and close the database. trouble is that I've got some DSUM and DAVERAGE formulas that need the file to be opened before they'll refresh.

    Any help will be much appreciated

    Gareth,

    The VBA statement
    Code:
    activesheet.enablecalculation = false
    will turn off calculation on the active worksheet.

    Hope this helps.
