Match Cells In One Column To Cells In Another

    Hi,

I want to try and create a macro that will start with the value in the first cell of one column and find it another column and highlight both itself and the other value and then move onto the next value in the cell below and repeat the same process until it reaches the end of the column.

This would result in leaving unhighlighted cells as new items as it were that did not exist before.

If anyone can help or give me a few pointers, I would be very grateful.

    Cheers,

    B.

I suggest conditional formatting in this case.
In formulae, depending on your locale, you might have to replace ; with , or vice versa.

Here is a walk through of a possible conditional formatting solution:

Select the entire column you are wanting to check. For this example I am using column D
    Go to Format>>>Conditional Formatting
Change the drop down box from "Cell Value Is" to "Formula Is" and use this formula =COUNTIF($A$1:$Z$100,D1)>1
Adjust $A$1:$Z$100 to meet your range. Change D1 to your column.
Pick a background color you want and this will highlight any cell in your chosen column that appears more than one time in your table.

This does not highlight the matching cells in the other columns.
