    I don't think you can do this. No event has been triggered until you click, right-click or double-click.

    Use a comment that you insert. A triangle appears in the upper right corner of the cell.

    I don't think that will be possible. You can show a comment with text in it, but I wouldn't know how to change that text once you show the comment. The same holds for how to underline text when the comment is shown.

    According to my book, you can change comments by using ClearComment and AddComment - would they be usable once the comment is showing? Don't see why not. But nothing happens without a click, I don't think.

    Using the above: (ClearComment and AddComment).
    Bear in mind that you place the comments NOT some dynamic text!!
    If you had for example NAMES on the A column and Tom was A3. You place the comments and hovering shows Tom.
    If you change A3 from Tom to John the comment STILL shows Tom!! You have to remove/add comments to "refresh".

    Here is my code if it helps:

    FOR ADDING:
    VB:
    Sub add_comments()
        Dim rcell As Range
        For Each rcell In Range("B3:P25")
            If rcell.Value <> "@" Then
                rcell.AddComment
                rcell.Comment.Text Text:=Cells(rcell.Row, 1) & Chr(10) & Cells(2, rcell.Column).Value & Chr(10) & Cells(rcell.Row, rcell.Column).Value
            End If
        Next
    End Sub

    FOR REMOVING:
    VB:
    Sub remove_comments()
        ActiveWorkbook.RemoveDocumentInformation (xlRDIComments)
    End Sub

    ADDITIONALLY FOR FORMATING MY HOVERING TO A LONG BLUE COMMENT BOX:
    VB:
    Sub Format_all_comments_together()
        Dim MyComments As Comment
        Dim LArea As Long
        For Each MyComments In ActiveSheet.Comments
            With MyComments
                .Shape.AutoShapeType = msoShapeRoundedRectangle
                .Shape.TextFrame.Characters.Font.Name = "Tahoma"
                .Shape.TextFrame.Characters.Font.Size = 12
                .Shape.TextFrame.Characters.Font.ColorIndex = 2
                .Shape.Line.ForeColor.RGB = RGB(0, 0, 0)
                .Shape.Line.BackColor.RGB = RGB(255, 255, 255)
                .Shape.Fill.Visible = msoTrue
                .Shape.Fill.ForeColor.RGB = RGB(58, 82, 184)
                .Shape.Fill.OneColorGradient msoGradientDiagonalUp, 1, 0.23
                .Shape.ScaleWidth 3.1, msoFalse, msoScaleFromTopLeft
            End With
        Next
    End Sub

    Note that for some reason that I'm not going to explore, every time I run the last function the box gets longer!! It helps with long names too. All I did was remove and run the last Sub a few times.

    I hope it helps
