    Extracting Data Within Parentheses

    Hello,

I need to come up with a formula that will pull the data located within parentheses. Here is an example below:

    CHRISTINE DALEY (497998)
    LINDA DALEY (503094)
    STEPHAN DANIEL (100360949)

    Thanks!

Assuming your example data is in cell A1:
    VB:
    =MID(A1,FIND("(", A1)+1,LEN(A1)-FIND("(", A1)-1)

    =mid(a1,find("(",a1)+1,sum(find({"(",")"},a1)*{-1,1})-1)

Another way, which will return a true number, not text
    =--SUBSTITUTE(MID(REPLACE(A1,FIND(")",A1)+1,256,""),FIND("(",A1)+1,256),")","")

Both Dave's and ShosMeister's formula will fail if there are anything after the 2nd parentheses.
