convert xls file to stand alone exe

Hi

I am finishing up a program using excel that does a lot of nice things, and seems to be working. I want it to be used by anyone, even if they do not have Excel. I want it to be *my* program completely, w/o Excel being a part of it anymore. Is there a way to compile an excel file and turn it into an EXE file so there is no need for an excel program to run it?

I believe that is one of the major differences between VBA and VB. In VBA, you cannot create a stand-alone .exe.

Are you saying you have written something use the VBA within Excel that uses no part of excel?

No. Just Excel and VB macros.

So you do not use any cells or ranges. No workbooks to hold data even if you are only reading it. No formula.

If so one has to ask the question why use excel?
