Plotting times with milliseconds

I can create a chart with time values on the x-axis.
But I don't seem to have the option to use times with milliseconds, for example,
10:12:23:237

Any ideas?

Re: Plotting times with milliseconds

Hi,

You need to convert your time, which I assume is text, into milliseconds.
You can now plot this value. You may also need to create you own dummy axis to display the milliseconds in the time format.

Can you post a example workbook of your time values.

Re: Plotting times with milliseconds

Thanks for your quick reply and willing help!

I have attached a simple example. The time is represented as hours:minutes:seconds:milliseconds

Re: Plotting times with milliseconds

Hi,

To examples. As you data is equally spaced I used a category axis.
In case your real data is not equally spaced there is also a xy scatter chart.
You will see I have used cells to break the time done into values (please check my logic as its late here are my conversion from time to millisecs might be wrong)

Re: Plotting times with milliseconds

Your logic is fine - even if it was late - with the 2 answers you have given me I have been able to get over the (current) problems I have.
Guess I'll have to readup about Excel functions.
