Convert pdf to xl using adobe acrobat

Hi all
I have tried many different ways to convert pdf to excel
the best seems to be to highlight the data in adobe acrobat using the table/fomatted text tool >> right click >> save as ANSI.txt >> open with Excel

However, will only let me highlight a singel page in the document at a time
My current document is 200 pages.

Does anyone know how to beat this limitation or create a batch process?

btw, I have tried these utilities
Ghostscript
Able2Extract
pdf2txt

They all failed at negative numbers formatted as such
( 200,000) The right parend is output to Col A
The remainder is output to col B

In addition, labels such as TJE 098789 Roth are output to three columns instead of 1

The attached solution takes over after you use something like pdf2txt to get the data out of the .pdf and into Excel. It works for the number part of your problem. It assumes that the delimiter between numbers is a space. It handles up to four columns of numbers, but has instructions to expand that.

What it does is concatenates all of the fields into one string, then eliminates the extra spaces with a trim and replaces the "(" with a "-" and eliminates the ")" and "," with nested substitutes. It then separates the remaining number text into separate cells and converts them to values.

The label part of your problem, if delimited with spaces, cannot be fixed automatically unless there are patterns that can be evaluated.

WOA PDF-Excel is a free solution that allows you to use regular expressions and process multiple files.

Only by looking thru CP and review all of my subscriptions did I notice an update.

You may want to PM the thread starter next time.

At any rate, long since solved using Able2Extract from InvestInTech.com, and a whole bunch of VBA to clean up the output and format into excel database type structure
