Double click on the bottom right of the cell containing the formula.
This should autofill the formula according to entries in the column to the left.
Very simple but I can't figure out how to do it. Ninety percent of the time I paste, it is a formula which is copied from the top row and pasted down to the "bottom". The bottom defined as the previous column's last row with data in it. I work with large datasets, and pasting by scrolling down is time consuming.
I wonder if this is one of the super obvious things that therefore is never mentioned?
