Compile error in hidden module:auto exec

    Hi ya'll
I just recieved a new computer. After I uploaded all my files from the old computer; I now get an error code when opening up excel. The error is from the Microsoft Visual Basic. It states: compile error in hidden module:auto exec New.
If you hit OK. It will let you view the document and make changes with no problems. When you close the Doc I recieve the error; Compile error in hidden module: distMon.
Has anybody seen this problem before?
Is there anyway of fixing to problem?
I have already ran the repair option on the Office cd.
THANK You so much for your HELP1

    PMG3006,

The most likely culprit is that there is a missing reference file. So what you'll have to do is press Alt+F11 to get to the VB editor and in the tools references see if one of the checked boxes says missing.

If so you'll either need to find the referenced file and get it on the new pc or determine what the reference is for and either remove or use a different object. The compile error is most likely comming from the fact that XL isn't able to locate a particular object that is being used in the workbook.

    Regards,
    Barry Pettis

    iwrk4dedpr,
Thanks for your help. I got to the VB editor and in the tools references to see if one of the checked boxes says missing. There were no boxes checked that say missing. The boxes that were checked were Visual basic for applications, Microsoft excel 10.0 object library, OLE Automation, Microsoft Office 10.0 Object library. Should some thing else be checked that is missing from this list? Thanks again for all your HELP!!!

Instead of hitting ok whe the error happens select debug and post the routine that is erroring and also post which line is causing the compile error if you can. It should at the very least highlight the object that it doesn't like.
