    Hi,

I would like to set up a form where users could update mulitple tables from it. I tried to set the record source using a query therefore referencing the tables and fields I need. But when I switch from the design view to the form view it gives me a runtime error: can't go to the specified record...

    Any clues?

    Thanks,

    Bronsted

Any chance of a little more info on your data / table structure. Are you using subforms, for example, or trying to jam it all on one main form?

How about your fiels/tab;es/relationships.... the more info you can give the better....

The idea was not to use subforms, unless you have an easy way not to display the whole thing and just the field you want.

I basically have one form with tab controls, and I want to be able to edit a different table in each tab/page.

    About tables/fields and relationship:

One main table called Individual with one to many relationships to other tables (e.g, car, address, ...)

    OK,

Are you saying that you have a table for Individual, a table for Address, a table for Car ? Surely the information could be on one table ? O rdo the individuals have many addresses & cars ?

Yes, there are one to many relationships between individual and car, or address. So that an individual can have several cars, as well as several addresses.

I actually managed to build a form displaying an individual's information, and a subform displaying the cars he owns. The issue I'm facing now is that I cannot seem to edit/add items to the car table through the subform. (The table is NOT locked for editing or anything) and I can edit the individual info.
The subform displays the right info, meaning it only displays the cars owned by the individual.

    Any idea?

    B,

    Did yo read your PM.

I have created a quick n dirty db that is possibly similar in basic structure. I can email it to you so you can check the subform properties etc.... in my example you can edit subform data so that it is reflected in the tables...

    PM back

    Will

BTW the properties of my subfom under the data tab are
    Enabled: Yes
    Locked: No
