$10 - Determine how many days in elapsed range fell within each month

Hi, prefer formula over VB.

1. Calculate # of days between two entered dates, assume 1 date in each column. Easy.

2. If end date is not within same month as start date, determine how many days elapsed within each month. Head-scratcher....... Elapsed days could be over 2, 3, 4, or more months.

Formating is flexible, could use separate columns for Jan, Feb, Mar, etc. if that helps.

Example: 2/20/2012 to 4/5/2012: = 10 days in Feb / 31 days in Mar / 5 days in Apr.
