Uploading XL file from Mac Alias Folders

I'm not sure if this is the correct sub-forum, but I noticed a technical issue when uploading a file today.

I'm on a MacBook with OS 10.5.8

I have a file "XLstuff" in my Documents folder and an alias of XLstuff ("XLstuff alias") on my Desktop.

When I went to upload a file, the alias XLstuff alias was greyed out when the dialog looked at my Desktop. I had to navigate to Documents in order to upload the file.

This is not a critical issue. It is pretty darn obscure, but the tech. folks for the board might want to know.

I haven't got a clue how to help you out there Mike... I'd need a MacBook to start with!

Thanks. I guess I'll just have to remember where my aliases (aliai ??) come from.
